General Conditions

1.- The minimum age of students is 16 and 14 for those enrolled in the Intensive Spanish Language Course F for younger students. There is no maximum age.

2.- To enroll in a course in the Colegio de Estudios Hispánicos you must send in a completed registration form. You can do this directly from our website http://www.cehispanic.com, by e-mail info@cehispanic.com, by fax: +34 923 215 607 or by post, using the school brochure, to the following address:

Once you have sent the inscription form, you must also send the proof of payment of the 150 € deposit which serves to reserve your placement in the school. This deposit is deducted from the final cost of your course. On receiving it, we will send you the confirmation of your inscription.

· With an official bank cheque from a Spanish bank, payment having been made in Euros. (We do not accept personal cheques).

· Once the payment has been made for the inscription, you can pay for the course and the accommodation in cash on the first day of your course in the registrar´s office at the school.

We regret that we cannot accept payments by credit card or by personal cheques.

3.- In order to obtain a visa for your stay in Spain, you should formalize your registration and make your payment for both the course and accommodation in advance. The school will then send you a signed and stamped, official certificate with the start and finish dates of the course in which you have registered, as well as the number of lessons per week. Visas are necessary for most countries where the stay is longer than 90 days.

4.- All cancellations must be notified in writing and sent to the school office before the beginning of the course.

The secretary of the school should be notified of any cancellations in writing before the course begins.

The registration fee will not be refunded under any circumstances. However, if for whatever reason your course is cancelled before its start date, you will have the right to register on another course at any time during the following 12 months after the date of cancellation.

The course fees will be returned if they were paid in advance, along with any payment for accommodation, as long as the school is notified at least 4 weeks before the start of the course. If you cancel at least one week prior to the start of the course, you are entitled to 30 percent refund. After the week prior to the course there will be no refunds.

5.- If you are going to arrive after the course has already started, you must inform the secretary in advance in order to keep your place reserved. Any days that you miss, including local and national holidays, will not be recovered.

The administrative charges for change of accommodation, before or after the start of the course, will be 30 euros. Once the course has begun there can be no change in the type of course.

6.- On the first day of the course the students will take a placement test in order to determine the appropriate level.

Lessons will take place in the mornings, with the possibility of being moved to the afternoon during peak season and in cases of necessity.

Those students who wish to prolong their studies should notify the secretary and pay the tuition for the desired course before it begins.

7.- We reserve your accommodation from one day before the start of the course (Sunday – 3pm) until 12 midday on the Saturday after your course finishes. The students will need to bring their own towels and the students who will be living in a flat will need to bring their sheets too.

Students will pay for any items broken or damaged due to wrongful use.

8.- Students who require the transfer service will be met at the airport by a representative of the school who will transport them to their accommodation. Those students who do not require the transfer service from the airport can make their own way to the address indicated on their registration confirmation letter.

9.- The course fees do not provide any medical coverage. Students who belong to a country from the European Union should bring with them either an E111 or E128 form/card to ensure medical insurance. We advise that those students who are not from EU countries take out medical insurance in their own countries or in Salamanca (ask in the school office).

10.- The Colegio de Estudios Hispánicos is neither responsible for any situations beyond its control, nor any actions taken by the students when they are outside the school.

The CEH reserves the right to exclude any student from the course and the accommodation for bad behaviour, for not attending classes or for repeatedly arriving late to lessons without good reason. In the case of expulsion for any of the above reasons, the student is not entitled to a refund or to take the missed course at a later date.

Participating in the course implies the consent and acceptance by the student and/or his legal guardians of all the general conditions included in the present list.

The management of the school reserves the right to change the information in this leaflet without prior warning.

All services offered are regulated by the current civil legislation with regard to consumer rights, in Special Decree 82/95 of the Junta of Castilla y Leon and the decree 26/84 for the defence of the consumer.

In accordance with the law 15/1999, information protection, we inform our clients that the information they submit in the registry of the school for internal use will not be ceded to third parties. Pursuant to said law we inform our clients of their rights of access, rectification and cancellation, by written order to the address of Colegio Estudios Hispanicos.
